This repository is a curated knowledge base on AI in animation education, built for higher-education staff, faculty, administrators and researchers. The repository aims to collect the small subset of information that materially informs how AI is taught, governed, and practised in animation and adjacent creative-arts disciplines.

Knowledge Base

An item joins the Knowledge Base when it sits at the intersection of three things: AI (techniques, tools, models, policy, ethics, intellectual property); higher education (curriculum, pedagogy, assessment, accreditation, faculty development, the student experience); and animation and adjacent creative arts: 2D/3D animation, VFX, motion design, illustration, game art, and immersive media at the core; extending to screen production and film, graphic and communication design, and the performing and fine arts.

Material that aligns with only two of the three is held to a stricter bar: it must come from the originating source, via an authoritative outlet, and carry something concrete (data, a named workflow, an on-record statement, regulatory or legal action).

Out-of-scope items

We typically avoid inclusion of the following information types:

Items which are general in nature, or merely of popular interest, but which do not meet the criteria for entry in the Knowledge Base may appear in the News section.

News digest

Alongside the Knowledge Base we run a lightweight news digest: a broader, time-bound selection of issues in brief. Digest items age out after about a month. The digest helps keep the Knowledge Base usable as an ongoing reference.

Tools

Models, tools and platforms earn an entry in the tools index only if they are real and publicly usable, fit a named place in an animation or creative-arts pipeline (including teaching), and offer educators something tangible and applicable that the index doesn't already cover. These entries track tools, not every version release. Listings are descriptive, not an endorsement of any product or method.

Suggesting material

Community submissions are welcome and are reviewed against the same criteria above. Submissions can be made via the Submit page.
